Overview

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") explain the rules for using the Flagstaff Paint Pros website (flagstaffpaintpros.com) and any related services, content, or features (collectively, the "Website"). By visiting or using the Website, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not access or use the Website.

Flagstaff Paint Pros ("we," "us," "our") is a locally owned painting company serving Flagstaff, Arizona, and nearby communities such as Kachina Village, Doney Park, Mountainaire, Munds Park, and the greater Coconino County area. We may revise these Terms at any time without notice. Your continued use of the Website means you accept the updated version.

Our Privacy Policy is part of these Terms by reference and describes how we collect, use, and protect personal information.

1. Services Offered

Flagstaff Paint Pros provides professional painting services across the Flagstaff, AZ area, including but not limited to:

  • Interior painting (residential and commercial)
  • Exterior painting (residential and commercial)
  • Cabinet refinishing and painting
  • Deck and fence staining
  • Drywall repair and texture matching
  • Color consultation
  • Pressure washing and surface preparation
  • Popcorn ceiling removal
  • Trim, molding, and door painting
  • Stucco and wood repair painting

Service availability depends on scheduling, current weather conditions common to Flagstaff's high-country climate, and project timing. That includes monsoon season, snow, and freezing temperatures. We work with both homeowners and commercial property owners within our service area.

2. Estimates and Pricing

Estimates shared through the Website, by phone, or in person are based on the details available when the estimate is prepared and remain valid for 30 days from the issue date. Final pricing may change if we discover:

  • Surface conditions that differ from the original information
  • Scope changes requested by the client
  • Additional repairs needed, such as wood rot, drywall damage, or stucco cracks
  • Unplanned issues related to Flagstaff's elevation and climate, which is about 7,000 feet above sea level

Any pricing changes will be communicated before extra work begins. All prices are listed in U.S. dollars.

3. Scheduling and Appointments

Appointments depend on availability and weather. Flagstaff's seasonal conditions can affect exterior painting timelines, including:

  • Winter months (November–March): Snow, ice, and freezing temperatures may delay or pause exterior projects
  • Monsoon season (July–September): Afternoon storms may disrupt scheduling
  • Temperature requirements: Most exterior coatings must be applied above 35–50°F, depending on product specifications

We aim to communicate delays quickly and arrange a new date that works for both sides. Interior painting is usually not affected by seasonal weather.

4. Payment Terms

Payment terms are set out in your service agreement or contract. In general:

  • A deposit may be required to reserve your place on our schedule
  • Progress payments may be required for larger projects
  • Final payment is due when the work is complete and approved by the client
  • Accepted payment methods include cash, check, credit card, and electronic payment

Overdue balances may be charged a 1.5% monthly finance charge or the maximum amount permitted under Arizona law. Returned checks may be subject to a $35 fee.

5. Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy

We understand that schedules change. Our cancellation terms are as follows:

  • More than 7 days before scheduled start: Full refund of deposit
  • 3–7 days before scheduled start: Deposit may be kept as a scheduling fee
  • Less than 48 hours before scheduled start: Deposit is non-refundable
  • Weather-related cancellations: Rescheduled at no additional cost to the client

To cancel or reschedule, call us at (928) 555-0147 or email [email protected].

6. Client Responsibilities

To help the project run smoothly, clients agree to:

  • Give reasonable access to the work area during scheduled hours
  • Remove personal belongings, fragile items, and valuables from the work area before we arrive
  • Keep pets and children away from the work area for safety
  • Share any concerns, allergies, or sensitivities related to paint products
  • Be available for color approval and project walkthroughs
  • Keep exterior spaces accessible by moving vehicles, outdoor furniture, and similar items

If the work area is not prepared, additional charges may apply if our team must move items, and the project may take longer to complete.

7. Warranty and Guarantee

Flagstaff Paint Pros stands behind the quality of our workmanship. Our standard warranty covers:

  • Peeling, flaking, or blistering caused by improper application, not by substrate failure, moisture intrusion, or client-caused damage
  • Warranty period: Typically 2 years for interior work and 2 years for exterior work, as outlined in your contract
  • Warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original client at the original property

Warranty claims must be submitted in writing. We will review the affected area and decide on the appropriate remedy, which may include repair or repainting at our discretion.

Warranty exclusions include:

  • Damage caused by settling, structural movement, or foundation issues
  • Moisture intrusion from roof leaks, plumbing failures, or poor drainage
  • Normal wear and tear
  • Damage caused by the client, other contractors, or third parties
  • Failure of underlying substrates (wood rot, stucco failure)
  • Use of unauthorized products over our coatings
  • Damage from extreme weather events (hail, heavy snow loads, flooding)

8. Paint Products and Materials

We use premium paints and coatings from trusted manufacturers, often including Sherwin-Williams, Benjamin Moore, and PPG. Product choices are based on:

  • Surface type and condition
  • Interior vs. exterior application
  • Flagstaff's high-altitude UV exposure requirements

  • Client preferences and budget

Product details, including sheen, color, and brand, will be confirmed in your project agreement. Colors shown on screens may not match the final painted result. We recommend reviewing physical samples before making a final selection.

Flagstaff House Painting FAQs: Answers for Local Homeowners

Painting homes in Flagstaff takes more than standard know-how. Learn what affects finish quality, project timing, and long-term results in Arizona’s high-country climate.

  • Most exterior projects in Flagstaff take about 5 to 8 working days, but the schedule depends on weather. Summer monsoon storms can interrupt progress, and early fall cold snaps may slow drying time. Careful preparation matters here because strong sun and high elevation can shorten the life of a finish if the work is rushed.

  • Pricing is shaped by the home’s size, the condition of the surfaces, and the grade of paint selected. Older homes in Downtown often need more prep work on aging wood siding, while newer properties in Cheshire may call for different surface treatment. Materials that stand up to Flagstaff’s UV exposure and freeze-thaw cycles also affect the total cost.

  • Yes, many Flagstaff HOAs set rules for exterior colors, especially in communities such as Forest Highlands and Pine Canyon. These guidelines often limit the palette and finish options you can use. Submit your color choice to the HOA first so you do not run into a violation or have to repaint later.

  • Check that the contractor holds a current Arizona Registrar of Contractors license. They should also carry both general liability coverage and workers’ compensation insurance. It helps to ask for references from recent Flagstaff projects, since local experience with the climate is a strong sign they understand the work well.

  • Late spring through early fall, usually May through September, is the most reliable period for exterior painting. Paint needs steady temperatures above 50 degrees to cure correctly. It is best to avoid monsoon weather and the colder nights of early fall, which can cause problems in higher-elevation neighborhoods like Elden Trails.

  • South- and west-facing walls often peel or blister because they take the brunt of the sun. Direct UV exposure can also cause paint to chalk before its time. In snowy areas like near the Snowbolla, poorly sealed surfaces may let in moisture, which can lead to cracking and flaking.

  • A well-executed paint job can deliver solid value in Flagstaff’s active housing market. It improves curb appeal, which matters when buyers are comparing homes in places like Continental Country Club. A clean, maintained exterior also suggests the property has been cared for, which can support a stronger asking price.

  • Yes, there are low-VOC and zero-VOC products that still offer strong performance. Look for paints designed with UV protection and flexibility so they can handle Flagstaff’s temperature swings. These choices reduce indoor odor during interior work and are a good fit for homeowners who want lower-impact materials.

  • For exteriors, satin and low-sheen finishes are usually the most practical choice. They resist dirt, clean up more easily, and handle dust and pine pollen better than flatter finishes. They also give the surface enough flexibility and strength to cope with Flagstaff’s wide temperature changes.

  • Inspect your home each spring so small issues are easier to catch. Wash the siding gently to remove dirt and mildew, and repair chips or cracks right away before moisture gets in. It also helps to trim back branches and thick vegetation that hold water against the house, which is common on wooded lots near Lake Mary Road.
